News Release
Hino Motors Releases the “High Decker Short” Series as an addition to its “Hino S’elega” Large Touring Coaches that Meet the New Long-term Emission Regulations.
Last year, Hino Motors, Ltd. (hereafter called “Hino”) carried out a full model change for the first time in 15 years, and released its Hino S’elega large touring coaches intended to meet the New Long-term Emission Regulations (2005). Today, it has additionally released the 9-meter length class High Decker Short series. Hino has also drawn up lift specifications to accommodate wheelchair passengers, high-speed interurban night coach specifications, and so on, for both the Super High Decker and High Decker series currently being marketed, and has simultaneously released coaches with these specifications. The newly released High Decker Short series is a short coach that has a maximum length of 9 meters, but retains the basic features of the new Hino S’elega Super High Decker and High Decker, which enjoy a reputation for revolutionary styling, advanced environmental performance, excellent riding comfort, a cozy interior, and so on. It is a full-fledged touring coach that can be used for medium-sized group tours of around 30 persons, or as a flagship coach for transportation companies who mainly use medium or small vehicles. Regarding environmental performance, the High Decker Short uses the DPR (Diesel Particulate active Reduction system) clean diesel system, which is based on the newly developed J08E 6-cylinder in-line diesel engine, ensuring greatly reduced levels of NOx (oxides of nitrogen) and PM (particulate matter). This environmentally friendly coach also conforms to the New Long-term Emission Regulations. This coach is very comfortable to ride in and handles extremely well: It features a 30% reduction of vibration compared to previous models due to the use of newly developed suspension and steering systems, improved direct advance stability and cornering performance, improved air conditioning performance due to the use of a newly developed full-auto air conditioner connected directly to the engine, a fully flat floor from which passage steps have been eliminated, and also a new proposal for a slide salon seat that can create salon space while also improving riding efficiency. It thus offers a very pleasant transportation environment. The “Hino S’elega” lineup, which consists of three series, “Super High Decker”, “High Decker” and “High Decker Short”, offers higher value to all persons involved with coaches, and will become the mainstay for coach tours in the future. →“Hino S’elega”special web site(Japanese text only)
