Beware of "Phishing" Attempts by Criminals
“Phishing” Using the Hino Motors, Ltd. Name or Marks: There have been increasing attempts by criminals to defraud individuals or businesses by disguising their emails and posing as Hino Motors, Ltd., purporting to offer jobs and/or business opportunities. This practice is known as “phishing.” These emails generally mislead recipients, tricking them into disclosing confidential or personal information, such as bank account, credit card, driver’s license and/or passport information to the sender by replying to the email or filling out an HTML form.
Hino Motors, Ltd. never requests individuals or companies in the public to act as its distributors or representatives through email, does not offer positions of employment to individuals in the public through email, or request individuals or companies in the public to submit confidential or personal information via email or HTML forms. Any such messages that appear to be from Hino Motors, Ltd. are not legitimate and should be disregarded. If you suspect you have received any such fraudulent e-mail, you should never respond to it, click on any link contained therein, or make any deposit or payment.
In the event that you believe you may have provided confidential or personal information in response to such a fraudulent e-mail, you should contact your bank, credit card issuer, the Department of Motor Vehicles, passport authority and/or other relevant entities immediately to request appropriate action against this fraudulent or unauthorized use of your confidential or personal information. You should also contact your local police or other law enforcement authorities to file a criminal report or file a complaint.
