Hino Motors Unveils New Light-Duty Cab-Over-Engine Truck, Scheduled for a 2011 Launch, at American Truck Show.
On March 8 local time (March 9 Japan time) 2011, Hino Motors, Ltd. (Hino) unveiled a new light-duty truck at the "Work Truck Show" held in Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S.
While the truck announced at this show was specced for North American market, the model was developed as a global model that can be adapted to various regions. The model also comes with a version equipped with Hino's new diesel-electric hybrid system for considerably enhanced environmental performance.
Present at the announcement were Yoshio Shirai, president of Hino, and Sumio Fukaya, president of Hino Motors Sales U.S.A. to introduce the new model and the available new hybrid system. Hino currently markets medium-duty conventional trucks in the U.S. With the launch of this light-duty, cab-over-engine truck, also available in a class-first diesel-electric hybrid version, the company will be moving towards expanding its lineup.
A model specced for the Japanese market will be announced soon.
