Hino Motors, Ltd. (Hino) has published its 2014 CSR Report on the web. The report covers the initiatives Hino undertook in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014 to fulfill its corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Hino sees CSR as its fundamental approach for contributing to society, and it works to integrate CSR into all of its business activities - he development, production, sales and service of commercial vehicles. At Hino, CSR is essential to realizing the corporate mission stated in the Hino Credo: "To make the world a better place to live by helping people and goods get to where they need to go - safely, economically and with environmental responsibility - while focusing on sustainable development."

The purpose of the 2014 CSR Report is to enhance communication with stakeholders by clearly disclosing the approaches, policies, and measures that Hino has adopted for putting the Hino Credo into practice for each type of stakeholder.

Please note that the tables have been prepared following the Global Reporting Initiative G 3.1 Guidelines*1 and ISO 26000 CSR international standards, issued in November 2010.

Overview of the 2014 CSR Report

1.Social Performance Section

This section of the report presents Hino's activities and approaches to initiatives aimed at fulfilling the Hino Credo in relation to its stakeholders, categorized as customers, employees, business partners, shareholders, and local communities around the world. It includes a special feature on Hino’s initiatives with dealers to provide customers with training on fuel-efficient and safe driving techniques at the Customer Technical Center.
Another feature focuses on Hino’s support for the education of the next generations of Engineers in Thailand through a scholarship program commemorating Hino Motors 70th anniversary.

2.Environmental Performance Section

This section introduces the environmental management activities of Hino Motors based on the Hino Global Environment Charter, which lays out the Company's basic approach to environmental conservation, and various other activities, in accordance with Hino’s 2015 Environmental Initiative Plan,*2 providing relevant performance data.
Special features in this section describe the Initiatives for preserving the ecosystem at the river near the Koga Plant and urea-free NOx and PM post-processing system, as examples of technologies that directly address environmental issues.
