Hino Motors, Ltd. (Hino) has published its 2015 CSR Report on its website. The report covers the initiatives Hino undertook in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2015, to fulfill its corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Hino sees CSR as its fundamental approach for contributing to society, and it works to integrate CSR into all of its business activities - the development, production, sales and service of commercial vehicles. The purpose of the 2015 CSR Report is to enhance communication with stakeholders by clearly disclosing the approaches, policies, and measures that Hino has adopted for putting the Hino Credo into practice for each type of stakeholder. PDF files are provided for easy printing, since the printed edition was ended in 2009.

Overview of the 2015 CSR Report

1. Social Performance Section

This section of the report presents Hino's activities and approaches to initiatives aimed at fulfilling the Hino Credo in relation to its stakeholders, categorized as customers, employees, business partners, shareholders, and local communities around the world.

The Social Performance Section includes two special features. The first, "Developing Human Resources at the Hino Technical Skills Academy and a New Generation of Master Craftsmen" describes how Hino has been contributing to community development - one of the Company's key CSR activity domains - through formal education and technical skills training designed to ensure that better quality products are delivered to customers.
The second special feature, "Donating Valuable New Technologies to Automobile Mechanic Vocational Schools," focuses on how Hino has collaborated with its dealers nationwide to donate its newest vehicle engines to such schools in order to provide them with useful learning tools.

2. Environmental Performance Section

This section introduces the environmental management activities of Hino Motors based on the Hino Global Environment Charter, which lays out the Company's basic approach to environmental conservation, and various other activities, in accordance with Hino's 2015 Environmental Initiative Plan providing relevant performance data.

The Environmental Performance Section includes the special feature, "Designing vehicles to meet market needs and reducing their environmental impact at the manufacturing and distribution stages." It covers Hino's adoption of a modularization system to manufacture vehicles, which the Company has already started to implement in Indonesia, and plans to expand it worldwide in the future. The feature focuses on the environmental benefits of the modular production system, through which Hino can supply customers with environmentally friendly vehicles in a timelier manner.
