Hino Motors to present an exhibit on the theme of Environmental and Safety Frontrunner at the 2005 Tokyo Truck Show

Hino Motors Ltd. (“Hino”) will present an exhibit of heavy-, medium- and light-duty trucks and environmental and safety related technology on the theme of Environmental and Safety Frontrunner at the 2005 Tokyo Truck Show to be held at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center (Tokyo Big Sight) on Wednesday – Saturday, October 12-15, 2005.

  Exhibit items Features
Vehicle exhibit Heavy-duty trucks (1) Hino Profia FR
 [Reference exhibit]
Compatible with the 2005 New Long-Term Emission regulations.  Equipped with “pre-crash safety technology” in which danger of collision with the vehicle in front is detected by milliwave radar and, if the driver does not apply the brakes, brakes are activated by the vehicle, reducing damage in the event of a collision (development currently in progress).
(2) Hino Profia SH
Semi-tractor
[Reference exhibit]
Compatible with the 2005 New Long-Term Emission regulations.  Equipped with VSC, which reduces characteristic trailer instability epitomized by overturns and jackknives.
(3) Hino Scania
Semi-tractor
Full model change of the Hino Scania tractor, developed jointly with Swedish Scania.  Demonstrates outstanding economic efficiency, safety and comfort.
Medium-duty trucks (4) Hino Ranger FD Released in May of this year as a vehicle compatible with the 2005 New Long-Term Emission regulations. Featuring an abundance of model variations, it satisfies the need for improved load efficiency.
Light-duty trucks (5) Hino Dutro Hybrid
[Reference exhibit]
World’s first 2-ton class hybrid truck realizing both low pollution and low fuel consumption.  Reference exhibit has “Clear View Pillar” specifications for improved field of vision on the driver’s right front side.
Technology exhibit Environmental technology (6) Ultra-low emission gas-diesel engines for heavy-duty trucks compatible with the New Long-Term Emission Regulations (2005)
[Reference exhibit]
E13C engine newly developed through the integration of Hino most recent technology.  It satisfies the New Long-term Emission regulations, the world’s most stringent, through the further evolution of the clean diesel system DPR, while also realizing remarkably low fuel consumption.  This is a system that takes the customer’s convenience into account in contrast to urea SCR systems, which require urea-water solution replenishment.
Transport quality (7) Hino E-CRB system
[Reference exhibit]
New proposal for electrical supply to truck vans using a hybrid system.  Coupled with movable refrigerator CRB, it realizes transport with precision temperature management.  Preserves “just harvested” freshness.
Environmental technology (8) "Hino Drive Master" for the Support of Eco-Driving Provides simple and effective eco-driving guidance through warnings while driving and printout data afterward.
Safety technology (9) CAPS simulator A simulator for simulated hands-on experiences of the various functions and effects of safety technology including VSC tractor-use vehicle safety control system and pre-crash safety technology.
