Hino Motors releases non-step small-sized route bus Hino Poncho models equipped with electronic control 5-speed automatic transmission

Hino Motors, Ltd (“Hino”) has released additional models of the non-step small-sized route bus Hino Poncho equipped with electronic control 5-speed automatic transmissions (“electronic control 5-speed AT”) for the realization of easy driving and launched sales today.

The Hino Poncho features a simple rounded friendly external design as well as ease of ingress and egress and a spacious interior reflecting universal design concepts. It has been operated as a community bus by many local governments since first released on the market in March of this year.

The operating routes of a community bus also include many narrow alleys like a residential street, and since there are also many female drivers and elderly drivers inrecent years, the buses equipped with AT that enable the drivers to concentrate more on operation and contribute to safe driving is put on the market.

In addition to easy driving, they are also conducive to improved riding comfort and safe driving because since they offer the ability to restrain pitching in the passenger cabin due to gear changes.

Hino will continue to develop vehicles that are friendly to both people and society through persistent effort and state-of-the-art technology.

These models are available only in the Japanese domestic market.
