Hino Motors establishes new models in the Hino Ranger line for use with medium-sized license
- Release of new G.V.W. 11-ton series in response to the new medium-sized driver’s license -Hino Motors, Ltd. (”Hino”) today started releasing a new series of the Hino Ranger trucks (G.V.W, = gross vehicle weight 11 tons) compatible with the newly established “medium-sized ” driver’s license valid for medium-sized vehicles in the new driver’s license system in Japan.
The newly released vehicles compatible with the mid-level license are trucks that ensure the highest loadability (maximum payload 6.4 tons) as trucks with a G.V.W. less than 11 tons, the upper limit of vehicles that can be operated with a “mid-level” license in the new driver’s license system that will come into effect in June of this year.
They were developed as trucks appropriate for the medium-sized license, characterized by improved transport efficiency through a shift from conventional trucks with a maximum payload of 4 tons and also the ability to ensure sufficient load capacity for trucks with comparatively heavy bodies such as refrigerator vans.
We intend to satisfy the diverse needs of our customers through a broad range of available variations including five types of engines and trucks with rear air suspension and with automatic transmissions (“AT” trucks).
Like Hino Ranger models already on the market, the new models will feature advanced environmental performance in compliance with the New Long Term Emission Standards of 2005 and a 10% reduction in NOx and PM compared to the New Long-Term Emission Regulations
*Available only in Japanese domestic market.
