Those engines have realized clean emissions with the adoptions of technologies such as ultra-high pressure common rail system and newly improved combustion chambers, which creates remarkable fuel savings, and further with the adoptions of a highly efficient cooled EGR system and DPR which is most effective to remove PM (particulate matters). This is why Hino engines have been receiving a good reputation around the world.
Recently, Hino newly adopted a Urea SCR System to comply with Tier 4 Final to address NOx reduction. By forming the muffler into an S-shape, the after treatment, including the SCR system, was successfully downsized, which enables itself to be flexibly installed.
For its further contribution to sustainability, Hino will spare no effort to realize cleaner emissions by the coordinated control of the systems.
In addition to the highly temperature assistant ceramic filter which realizes a PM collection efficiency as high as more than 95%, the DPR delivers a constant PM regeneration performance even in low temperature exhaust gas with the adoption of an intake throttle, while it ensures substantially high maintenance ability by the automatically controlled regeneration.

The Urea SCR System utilizes aqueous urea solution which separates NOx into harmless water and nitrogen and, being combined with the DPR, realizes highly efficient reduction of NOx and PM in a light and compact manner.
