Sabristas is a major player in the processed food industry in Mexico. It is a company with a long history, marketing snacks and a variety of other food products since its founding in 1943. The company currently operates three HINO 300 Series trucks and two HINO 300 Series Hybrids for deliveries to convenience stores. HINO launched the HINO 300 Series in the Mexican market in August 2007, and this is when Sabristas and HINO began doing business with each other.

“We purchased one HINO 300 Series truck in November to evaluate HINO trucks, which were new on the market. Later, upon learning that HINO also offered hybrid trucks, we began operating two HINO 300 Series Hybrids on a monitoring basis in July 2008. We also had the opportunity to visit HINO’s Hamura factory at the invitation of HIMEX (Hino Motors Sales Mexico, S.A. de C.V.), and I believe this experience was a very positive one.” Mr. Sergio Escutia Cervantes, the person in charge of vehicle selection and maintenance who has been with Sabritas for 24 years continues, “I feel the trucks offer good visibility and mobility. They are durable and not easily break down. Service operations at the dealers are also good, and I believe these have resulted in high operation rates for our trucks.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Angel Valentin Loarca, a driver of a HINO 300 Series Hybrid says, “I can adjust the steering wheel and seat to achieve the best driving position for myself. It’s also equipped with an air conditioner, so I really like the comfort in the cabin. Also, because its steering wheel is easy for me to operate, I feel that it’s easy to park in the small spaces available at convenience stores, and it’s also comfortable to drive and maneuver in narrow alleys. I feel proud to be driving hybrid vehicle with high technologies.”
