HINO TEAM SUGAWARA Descend on Lima for the Dakar Rally 2013
Dec 28, 2012
Only days away from the start of the Dakar Rally 2013, things are going smoothly for HINO TEAM SUGAWARA, which moved its base to Lima, the capital city of Peru, to carry out final adjustments to their trucks.
By courtesy of Grupo Pana S.A., one of dealers of Toyota Del Peru S.A., distributor of Hino vehicles in Peru, the team has set up a maintenance base on the premises of the company's Callao branch. As Lima receives almost no rainfall, the team is working under a temporary tent set up in the outdoor parking area of the Callao branch. In their showroom facing a busy street, a banner is now displayed announcing that this branch is the base for HINO TEAM SUGAWARA. This rally is truly a team endeavor, not only for the team but for the distributors and everyone else connected with Hino.
In addition to taking care of servicing tasks such as replacing oils and retightening joints, the team was busy installing a variety of safety devices and special equipment that are needed to compete in this rally. Meanwhile, the mechanics, who have been selected from among Hino dealers nationwide (three of whom are taking part in this rally for their first time), are busy carrying out simulations of their tasks in preparation for their 2-week battle.

Schedule for the coming weeks
December 31: Support cars (Heavy-duty truck HINO 700 Series and Toyota 4Runner) arrive.
January 2: Documentation inspection and vehicle inspection
