HINO600 to arrive at the bivouac.
On the 7th, the third stage of Dakar 2025 took place from Bhisha in southwestern Saudi Arabia to Al Henakiya in the northwest. The race was held for 327 km in the hilly terrain along the way. The section was originally scheduled to be 496 km, but due to the delay in finishing the stage finish of some participants from the 48H Chrono Stage the day before, and the road surface collapsed due to rainfall, the organisers moved the finish line forward by 169 km and shortened the distance. The road surface was sandy and there ware black and sharp rocks that can puncture tires for the first 100 km. From the middle of the game, high-speed off-road was introduced, but there were many branches, and it was a stage where you couldn't let your guard down, such as paying attention to navigation.
Hino Team Sugawara, who cleared the 48H Chrono Stage the day before, which was said to be the most difficult stage, without any trouble, and jumped from 12th to 6th in the truck division. He survived the rocky early stages with no punctures, and then continued to drive steadily to finish 73rd overall in the four-wheel category and 10th, 34 minutes and 29 seconds behind the leader in the track category. As a result, they finished 60th overall in the four-wheeled standings and 6th in the truck division.
The fourth stage of Al Henakiya ~ AlUla on the 8th and the fifth stage of AlUla ~ Hayr on the 9th will be marathon without the assistance of the team at the bivouac of AlUla on the way.A two-day marathon without mechanics or parts is at the same risk of trouble as the 48H Chrono Stage. At the Hino team's bivouac, the mechanics immediately began careful inspection and maintenance when the competition car arrived just before 8 p.m.
Teruhito Sugawara
You have to be careful with the black rocks like lava because they puncture the tires, but I could only go up to about 40 km/h, which felt very long. Tomorrow we will head to AlUla, so it looks like we will see a rocky area like Morocco again.
Hirokazu Somemiya
It was a rocky road that lasted for 100 km, and I had to endure it all the time. Off-road navigation with a lot of branches is okay as long as you check the cup (bearing) carefully. Your support will be a strength, so please send us a message on SNS.
Yuji Mochizuki
In rocky areas, we kept the tire pressure high and took care of punctures. Other than that, there is no problem with the vehicle. I'm going to run a marathon tomorrow, so I'll have it inspected thoroughly.
