Hino Sustainability Report 2021 Released

Hino Motors, Ltd. (Headquarters: Hino City, Tokyo; President: Satoshi Ogiso; hereafter "Hino") released today the Hino Sustainability Report 2021 on the Hino official website.
The report outlines Hino's approaches for helping to build a sustainable world. It details how Hino will contribute to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a set of globally embraced goals and targets, by working to solve customer and social issues, as mandated by Challenge 2025 -- the company's medium- to long-term management strategy announced in October 2018 -- even during the COVID-19 pandemic.

■Main Contents of this Report
1.Top Message
The president expresses his determination that "Team HINO" will work as one as the world undergoes the transformation to a sustainable society, and face each challenge together with like-minded partners.

2.Structural reforms to achieve the goals of Challenge 2025
The report presents how Hino is accelerating the business structural reforms needed to better solve customer and social issues, using case studies of the company's initiatives.

3.Hino's environmental management
This section also describes Hino's approach and initiatives to help ensure a sustainable global environment. It provides clear explanations of the Hino Environmental Challenge 2050 created in 2017, and the Hino Environmental Milestone 2030 released in April 2021, as well as the 2025 Environmental Initiative Plan (five-year action plan), which contains the company's mid-term environmental goals.

4.ESG initiatives
This section describes Hino's ESG initiatives with specific examples and figures.
It also introduces the activities of Team HINO to support transportation for wheelchair athletes and other participants in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Under Hino Environmental Challenge 2050 (hino-global.com) we seek to minimize our environmental impact that truck and bus affect to the earth through various environmental initiatives covering prevention of global warming, resource circulation, and biodiversity conservation.

In addition to our collaboration with the Toyota Group, we aggressively pursues the creation of partnerships with like-minded organizations and provides solutions to societal issues.

To respond to the issue of chronic shortages of auto mechanic, we seek to develop mechanic training and enhancement so that customers' vehicle operation is not interrupted.
